Justin was hit by a car yesterday while road biking. The driver of the vehicle didn't see Justin or Bill (Justin's friend) and pulled out right in front of them. Bill is banged up pretty good and has a substantial injury to his ankle and shoulder. Justin's femur drove through his hip socket, shattering it. He also has a broken rib and some pretty intense lacerations on his legs. He is stable, but is in a lot of pain. He was transported to UVA last night and is currently waiting for the surgeon to evaluate him and schedule surgery to reconstruct the hip socket. Justin's parents were actually an hour away when all this happened. They were on their way to spend the weekend with us...how like God to orchestrate that. We are grateful.
Please keep Justin in your prayers. I know he would appreciate them so much. Feel free to leave a comment for him and check back often for updates!
The Harrison family is praying for you, Justin!
ReplyDeleteWe are praying!!
ReplyDeletePraying! We love you!
ReplyDeleteJustin Ryan, how my heart hurts for you right now! I've been praying since I heard last night. If anyone can handle this, it's you...recalling a certain basketball game in HS which left BOTH of your wrists broken! You'll pull through like a champ, just like then! I will continue to pray for comfort for your pain and wisdom for the surgeons.
ReplyDeleteLots and lots of big hugs! Love ya, buddy!
Nikki
Hey, Cousin. I was hoping for a nice, juicy update from you in about two months, here in Chicago, but you had to jump the gun, didn't you, and create a little drama first? ;) Erik and I are thinking of you and keeping you in prayer. You should be getting a goofy card from me soon via the hospital's e-card system (here's hoping it works), so if you need something thrilling to look forward to, think on that. Hang in there, Justin.
ReplyDeleteJustin - we love you so much and are praying for you! You are such an amazing person and God has a huge plan for your life. I am blessed to have you in my family. Love you! Ali

ReplyDeleteDear Justin - Oh my, I'm thinking of you and praying for you constantly since I heard the news last night. You are surrounded by so many people, near and far, who love you and care about you. You're certainly starting your 30's off with a bang!! It was so fun to help celebrate your birthday and I hope to see you again real soon. Tell the doctors to keep the drugs coming. A great big hug and kiss from Aunt Annie!

Joey and I love and adore you, you know that. You are family to us, and were going to be right beside you to get you through this. Love and prayers to you and all your family, Katie and Joey

Hey Justin,
ReplyDeleteWhat a shock. I just got a text from Joel. You never expect to here this about someone you know. I had just finished riding my bike around the lake and was passed by several cars in the dark. It just goes to show you that our life is but a vapor that appeareth for a little time then vanisheth away. We are not promised tomorrow. Keep looking forward and to a full
recovery. Oh yea! You need your championship
softball shirt to wear. Praying for you.
Take care,
William
